Filled with a tender nostalgia, the Suzanne collection is a line of creations inspired by the romantic spirit of the jewelry of yesteryear. The pieces that make up the line have a charming vintage aura, and assert their assets thanks to the precious stones that enhance them. An ode to the beauty of gems and a reflection of the transmission of jewelry know-how through the years, Suzanne is a collection that will appeal to all those looking for striking and aesthetic jewelry.
Pear and marquise cut diamonds, at the heart of the Suzanne collection
In their natural state, diamonds are gems with no particular shape, and no real brilliance. It is thanks to the work of man, and more particularly the stone cutter, that the diamond can reveal all its beauty. Indeed, once the stone is cut, the light reflects and refracts on it, which gives the brilliance and sparkle that we know to the magnificent diamonds used in jewelry. The cut is therefore essential, because even colorless and pure, a diamond will be dull if it is badly cut.
To determine which cut (i.e. shape) would best bring out the beauty of the stone, the cutter examines the stone in its rough state and makes his choice based on the inclusions it contains (inclusions are natural imperfections that appear during the formation of the diamond), but also on its carat weight, volume and structure. Every week, our gemologists go to the famous diamond exchange in Antwerp to choose the most beautiful diamonds offered by the sellers according to the needs of our Maison for the setting of the jewelry.
Through the Suzanne collection, the stones are dressed in a vintage dress highlighted by a shaped stone: marquise or pear cut. You will also find jewelry adorned with oval, baguette or brilliant cut diamonds, but the marquise and the navette remain the undisputed queens of the collection!
The pear cut
Shaped like a teardrop, the pear cut is also called a "pendeloque" (from the verb "pendeler," meaning "to be suspended"), and usually has 56 to 58 facets. Spotlight on necklaces Marceau, Jacques or the solitaire Marcel for example, it is a size that requires perfect symmetry to be harmonious.
The marquise cut
Also known as the "navette cut", the marquise cut is said to be directly inspired by the Marquise de Pompadour, one of Louis XV's mistresses, for whom he ordered a diamond cut reminiscent of the lovely shape of her mouth.
The particularity of this shape, which has 55 facets, is to give an illusion of size to the diamond, with equal weight compared to a round shape for example. Highlighted on the iconic Suzanne wedding ring, pièce maîtresse de la ligne éponyme, le diamant taille navette incarne la sensualité et le raffinement.
The joy of the colors of the precious stones put forward
In order to offer you a wide choice of creations, the most iconic pieces of the Suzanne line are adorned with colored stones. Generally accompanied by diamonds, the rubies, sapphires and emeralds that take their place at the heart of the jewelry blossom in a luminous bouquet, the countless fragments of each piece sparkling with preciousness.
If you are looking for a gift to say "I love you" for a birthday, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or any other special occasion and you want to surprise someone with a colorful piece of jewelry, one of these jewelry pieces would definitely be a great idea!
Marguerite : a solar ring embodying the soul of the Suzanne collection
Like a flower blooming at your hand, Marguerite is a jewel of light. The central stone is surrounded by a string of small gems, resplendent petals that reinforce the shimmer of the ring. With its bucolic allure, its symmetrical, delicate and precise design, the diamond composition mounted on yellow gold particularly illustrates the romantic and lavish side of the Suzanne collection.
An object of emotion and transmission, a ring is a special piece of jewelry that can take on an important role and embody a legacy that you will give to your child as a proof of unconditional love. With their eternal beauty, diamonds and 18k gold (750/1000) are noble materials that will last through the ages without losing their beauty if you take care of them…
