A history of innovation and excellence
Since the "OCEANSTAR" name was registered in 1944, MIDO has constantly innovated in the field of water-resistance. From the invention of the Aquadura cork crown seal in the 1930s to the patenting of the Superwatertest in 1953, the brand has established its expertise in the eyes of the world. The 1961 Ocean Star Decompression Timer, water-resistant to 300 metres, and the 2019 Ocean Star Diver 600, resistant to 60 bars, bear witness to this tradition of excellence... Today, excellence continues and is revealed in a 39 mm case to celebrate 80 years of expertise!
A design inspired by the ocean floor
The new Ocean Star 39 model features a dial in relief with shades of navy blue and black, evoking the undulations of the sea on the sand. The meticulous details of the dial, enhanced by round hour-markers in white Super-LumiNova®, ensure perfect legibility in all circumstances. The unidirectional rotating aluminium bezel, matching the dial colours, completes this maritime aesthetic.
No details left to chance...
The Ocean 39 has a screw-down caseback featuring the emblematic starfish, the symbol of the collection, a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The watch is water-resistant to 200 metres, allowing explorers to roam both on land and at sea. The stainless steel case, with its polished bevels and satin-finished surfaces, is meanwhile designed to withstand the rigours of the marine environment... The watch is thus an ideal model for diving enthusiasts who will be charmed by this model with its stainless steel bracelet.
A high-tech movement
At the heart of the Ocean Star 39 is the calibre 72, a latest-generation Swiss movement. Equipped with a non-magnetic Nivachron™ balance spring and offering a 72-hour power reserve, it combines reliability and high performance.
Three variants for every style
The new Ocean Star 39 is available in three variations: a champagne dial with steel bracelet, a black gradient on steel, and an all-black model with orange hour markers and hands, mounted on a black rubber strap. Each version reflects MIDO's expertise and innovation, while celebrating the rich history of the Ocean Star collection.
