The Story

The NOMOS 131 is distinguished by its date, its power reserve and the highly recognisable typography of its five Arabic Bauhaus-style numerals. Its blued steel hands contrast well with its silvered white metal dial. This watch has been the subject of two patents: one for its incredibly practical power reserve indicator which reminds its owner when to wind it up, and one for its extra large date, the ring of which is fixed to the movement.

Engine side

Seen from the side, this watch is extremely thin, less than 7 mm thick, and has three complications: a small off-centre seconds hand, a power reserve indicator and a date at 6 o'clock. How is this possible? Thanks to the watchmaking mastery of the House of NOMOS. Indeed, in 2014, the NOMOS DUW 4401 calibre will be launched, marking the beginning of a new era for NOMOS Glashütte. It is the first calibre to incorporate the patented NOMOS Swing System escapement. This has caused a lot of noise in the world of fine watchmaking and for good reason, it is the most complex element to realize! This manually-wound mechanical movement has a power reserve of 42 hours.

This NOMOS Tangente watch is guaranteed for two years. It will be delivered to you on a beautiful black leather strap tanned in Chicago. Its case takes the form of a magnificent black poplar wood box which also houses its warranty booklet.
