Omega Memomaster watch quartz 35 mm 1979

Short story

In 1978, when the quartz crisis hit the Swiss watch industry hard, one brand, Omega, did not admit defeat and decided to abandon, almost completely, the manufacture of mechanical watches in favour of top-of-the-range quartz. With the same manufacturing quality that has always characterized the brand, Omega offered watches with in-house quartz calibres which were intended to be the "world's most efficient" movements.
Although these watches, such as the Memomaster that we are presenting to you today, were technically very well made, it was a commercial failure and this did not prevent the collapse of the brand, which was restructured and changed its strategic direction 20 years later thanks to Nicolas Hayek.

What you need to know

The Memomaster quartz was the first programmable LCD watch ever produced in the world. It offers all kinds of functions such as a calendar, a 12-hour countdown timer, a 24-hour alarm and of course it tells the time. This model is in perfect condition and works very well. Its case fits remarkably well on the wrist and its integrated bracelet of the most beautiful effect does a lot for it. You will be able to navigate through its programs thanks to the pushers. To be noted, a small impact to the right of the Omega logo.

We haven't been able to get our hands on the original documents for this Omega watch. It will be delivered to you in a service pouch. Like all the vintage watches we sell, it has been authenticated and serviced by our watchmaker and as such benefits from the Lepage Vintage 1 year warranty.
