A little history

To preserve the whiteness of white gold, each piece is immersed in a bath of rhodium, an operation called "rhodium plating, which consists of depositing a thin layer of rhodium on the surface of the jewelry by electrolysis. Note that rhodium is a rare, silvery-white, very hard and corrosion-resistant metal, mainly used as an alloying element for platinum.
