A little history

1905 saw the discovery of South Africa's largest diamond in the Premier Mine: the Cullinan. Weighing more than half a kilo, or 2,500 carats, the stone was so expensive that no one would buy it. The South African government acquired it and presented it in 1907 to King Edward VII on the occasion of his 66th birthday, as a token of gratitude for the Transvaal's recent autonomy.

To enable the pendant to take on this triangular shape despite the size of the round diamond, we have positioned two claws three-quarters of the way up the diamond and the last at noon.
