The Joli Coeur necklace

The Joli Coeur necklace is distinguished by its three-prong setting, which gives it a triangular appearance, whereas the diamond is round. This lighter setting allows the light to shine through the stone, giving it an incomparable sparkle. It's a classic that's evolving to bring out the best in diamonds.

A little history

The oldest diamond, the Koh-I-Noor, weighs 186 carats and was discovered around 7 centuries ago. After many ups and downs, it was confiscated by the India Company in 1849 and offered to Queen Victoria. It left India for London in 1850 to mark the 150th anniversary of the East India Company. The Company decided to have it reshaped to justify its nickname, the Mountain of Light. It was Voorzanger who gave it an oval shape weighing 108.93 carats. The queen stipulated in her will that only a queen could wear the Koh-I-Noor. In 1937, the stone was set in Queen Elizabeth's crown, where it remains to this day.

A jeweller's word

For the Joli cœur pendant, we placed two ball claws three-quarters of the way up the diamond and the third at noon, with the setting just above it to be as discreet as possible. The sparkle of our chain links echoes that of the diamond.
