For the Brief History

For a long time, diamonds were reserved for a caste for whom they were a symbol of power, strength and courage. King Saint Louis, in 1270 forbade all women, regardless of rank, to wear precious gems. It wasn't until 1444, with Agnès Sorel, that women were once again allowed to wear precious stones. Charles VII, madly in love with Agnès, gave her a diamond, which then became a symbol of love.
