Constellation Globemaster
The Omega Globemaster gained worldwide fame by becoming the first Master Chronometer certified watch in 2015. This certification is the highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic resistance in the Swiss watch industry. The design pays homage to the Constellation watches of the 1950s, with details such as the fluted bezel, the vintage Pie Pan dial and the golden star. It is available in two different diameters, in 39 or 41 mm. Some have an annual calendar function. All models are powered by an OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber. This movement is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, which is embossed with the famous Constellation medallion featuring an observatory crowned with eight stars. What's more, you can choose between stainless steel, 18K gold or platinum for your Globemaster.
METAS Certification
In December 2014, OMEGA held a press conference with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to announce the introduction of a new certification method. The Globemaster is the first watch to be tested and approved according to this procedure, making it the world's first Master Chronometer movement. In addition to measuring the performance of the watches in everyday use, these tests verify that the watch and its movement function properly when exposed to magnetic fields exceeding 15,000 gauss.
High performance calibers
Since its inception, the Globemaster collection has been synonymous with precision. Particularly innovative, the new models are equipped with the Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber, providing greater efficiency and precision while limiting friction between components. This escapement replaces the traditional balance wheel with Swiss anchor. The movement therefore hardly needs any lubrication and requires little maintenance.
An Annual Calendar complication
The Manufacture presented the Globemaster Annual Calendar at Baselworld 2016. This version with the annual calendar complication is 2 mm larger than the classic Globemaster. The watch is intended to be as simple as possible, and indicates the month with a fourth central hand referring to a monthly scale on the edge of the dial. The setting is also simplified, with the date and month being changed via the crown. Thus, you will only need to set your watch during the months of February.
