Alpine Eagle 41 XPS: integrated haute horlogerie according to Chopard

Launched in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection marked Chopard's return to the very exclusive circle of sporty-chic watches with integrated bracelets. With the 298623-3001, Chopard has gone one step further by offering an ultra-thin interpretation, certified by the Poinçon de Genève, powered by a latest-generation L.U.C caliber.

An elegant and ultra-thin case in Lucent Steel A223

The 41 mm case, machined from Lucent Steel A223, is a mere 8 mm thick. This alloy, exclusive to Chopard, is 70% recycled, hypoallergenic, more resistant than traditional steel and, above all, has a brilliance comparable to that of white gold.

The circular bezel, screwed on with eight aligned screws – an Alpine Eagle signature – emphasizes the structured geometry of the case. The notched crown, engraved with the wind rose, reinforces the link with the Alpine inspiration of the collection.

But the strong point lies in the perfect integration of the steel bracelet, with its fluid design, alternating satin-finished surfaces and polished chamfers. This integrated bracelet is fundamental to the visual and ergonomic identity of the collection: it naturally extends the case middle and ensures exceptional wearing comfort, worthy of a metal glove.

A vibrant, textured and lively “Monte Rosa” dial

The dial is undoubtedly the most captivating element of this Alpine Eagle XPS. Its pinkish salmon hue, named “Monte Rosa” in homage to the highest Swiss-Italian peak, evokes the soft light of the Alps at dawn. This rare, subtle and poetic color is directly inspired by the natural alpine palette, and gives the watch a unique aura, between warmth, minerality and pure light.

Engraved with the collection's signature radiant pattern—inspired by the iris of the golden eagle—this dial captures and reflects light with intensity. It oscillates between copper reflections, golden pinks and pastel shades, offering a vivid visual depth with each turn of the wrist.

The whole is deliberately uncluttered: no date window disturbs the harmony of the dial. The applied hour markers and faceted rhodium-plated hands filled with Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 ensure impeccable readability while blending discreetly into the background.

L.U.C 96.40-L caliber: ultra-thin, COSC-certified and Poinçon de Genève-certified

Beneath its apparent sobriety, this Alpine Eagle conceals an exceptional caliber: the L.U.C 96.40-L, developed, decorated and assembled at the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier.

This ultra-thin automatic movement, just 3.30 mm thick, is powered by a 22-carat gold micro-rotor, which preserves the slimness of the case while ensuring efficient winding. It also benefits from patented Twin® technology, combining two barrels to guarantee a 65-hour power reserve.

The mainplate is circular-grained, the chamfers are bevelled and polished, all testifying to work carried out according to the strictest standards of Swiss haute horlogerie.

The off-center 22-carat gold micro-rotor, engraved and adorned with a fine circular graining, is elegantly integrated into this mechanical composition. Its oscillating weight reduces the thickness of the movement while ensuring efficient and silent winding.
