Octo Roma: the sensitive geometry of watch design

At Bulgari, design is never trivial. It always arises from a dialogue between classical heritage and bold modernity. The Octo Roma collection is the perfect illustration of this. It is inspired by a founding concept in the history of Roman art and architecture: that of the perfect form, embodied by the octagon. This motif, which can be found in ancient mosaics such as the dome of the Pantheon, symbolizes the harmony between the square (the Earth) and the circle (the Sky). It is this ancestral symbol that Bulgari has reinterpreted in a contemporary vision of luxury watchmaking.

Unlike its extreme sister, the Octo Finissimo - more angular, more radical - the Octo Roma displays a more versatile personality, more smoothly structured. The edges are softened, the curves more human. The case retains its 58 polished and satin-finished facets, the hallmark of the range, but it is more visually comfortable and fluid on the wrist. The objective is clear: to create a watch that is as suitable for everyday use as it is for a more formal environment.

This marriage of rigorous geometric design and Italian sensuality of the finishing touches gives rise to a watch with a strong personality, but never intimidating. A watch to be “lived”, designed to match real life, movements, styles and skin.

A green dial with striking relief and texture

Reference 104091 enhances this approach with a deep green dial, adorned with a delicately engraved Clous de Paris hobnail pattern. This texture creates subtle plays of light and brings relief to an already very expressive shade.

The applied hour markers and Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o'clock are enhanced with Super-LumiNova®, as are the dauphine hands, guaranteeing perfect readability. The whole is protected by a flat sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating.

The 41 mm satin-brushed and polished stainless steel case has a distinctive yet balanced design, conceived to suit all wrist sizes. The discreetly integrated screw-down crown is embellished with a black ceramic insert. At 3 o'clock, a well-integrated date window completes the ensemble.

BVL 191 movement: precision for every day

At the heart of the watch beats the BVL 191 Solotempo caliber, a mechanical self-winding movement developed and assembled by Bulgari. It offers a 42-hour power reserve and drives the essential functions: central hours, minutes, seconds and date.

It is visible through the transparent case back, revealing an oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève and meticulous finishing.

The interchangeable strap system allows the wearer to easily switch from the integrated steel bracelet - whose solid links offer exemplary comfort and fluidity - to a green rubber strap supplied with the watch.
