The genesis: a new vision of the tool-watch

Since its creation in 2010, Ressence has distinguished itself with a revolutionary approach to watchmaking, pushing the boundaries of traditional mechanical watches. With the TYPE 7, the Belgian brand is celebrating its 15th anniversary by introducing its first watch with an integrated strap, a natural evolution of its avant-garde design language. True to its DNA, Ressence does not follow trends: it redefines them.

This TYPE 7 Night Blue embodies this philosophy by combining a bold, minimalist design with ergonomics designed for uncompromising everyday wear. Designed for modern explorers, it combines performance, readability and comfort, offering an experience that is as intuitive as it is fascinating.

The model: an integrated and ergonomic design

The TYPE 7 Night Blue introduces a new interpretation of the tonneau case, true to Ressence's refined aesthetic. Made entirely of Grade 5 titanium, its case has flat sides enhanced by polished bevels, playing with the light with every movement. With a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 14 mm, it is characterised by a balanced and fluid silhouette, perfectly integrated with its titanium bracelet.

The bracelet, a central element of this new generation, has screwed links and a clasp with five micro-adjustment positions. This meticulous design guarantees optimal comfort, making the TYPE 7 a watch that can be worn without a second thought, without sparing it.

Its fixed ceramic bezel gives the Night Blue a resolutely modern look and provides increased protection against scratches, while highlighting its unique dial.

An oil-filled dial for absolute legibility

As on several of the brand's flagship models, the TYPE 7 features a convex oil-filled dial, offering an incomparable visual experience. This innovation, rarely seen on a mechanical watch, eliminates refraction and gives the illusion that the indications are floating directly on the sapphire crystal. This optimal readability is reinforced by a display covered with Super-LumiNova®, guaranteeing perfect readability day and night.

This dial has no conventional hands. Instead, Ressence has incorporated its patented ROCS 7 (Ressence Orbital Convex System), where subdials in perpetual orbit indicate the time in a fluid and instinctive manner.

The TYPE 7 Night Blue also stands out for its intuitive GMT function, allowing the wearer to keep track of a second time zone. Located on a dedicated sub-dial, the GMT hand is adjusted via the case-back, which is turned counter-clockwise to adjust the time in one-hour increments.

The calibre: an ingenious combination of mechanics and innovation

At the heart of the TYPE 7 is an automatic movement based on an ETA 2824, extensively modified to integrate the Ressence ROCS 7 system. This precision calibre is housed in a lower chamber filled with air, while the dial mechanism operates in an upper chamber filled with oil.

These two compartments are connected by a magnetic transmission system, allowing the basic movement to animate the dial in a completely fluid way. This innovative architecture reduces friction and improves the energy efficiency of the watch.

Another key element of the movement is its oil temperature indicator, which automatically adjusts the internal pressure via a system of compensating bellows. Unlike previous models, this indicator takes the form of a discreet coloured window under the hour dial, displaying temperature variations via a subtle gradient.

With a 36-hour power reserve and automatic winding, the TYPE 7 Night Blue guarantees reliability and precision, even in the most demanding conditions.

Optimised water resistance and simplified adjustment

Inspired by the TYPE 5 diving watch, the TYPE 7 is equipped with the Ressence Compression Lock System (RCLS). This innovative device locks and compresses the gasket in two positions:

• Open mode: allows you to set the time and wind the watch by turning the case back.
• Lock mode: secures the water resistance and protects the mechanism, offering water resistance to 50 metres (5 ATM).

Unlike TYPE 5, TYPE 7 does not have a rotating bezel, favouring a more streamlined and versatile approach.
