OMEGA offers a new two-tone version of its iconic Speedmaster, combining two stunning materials in a unique design: stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ gold, OMEGA's own flamboyant rose gold alloy, which offers high resistance to fading and loss of luster over time.
A myth
Succumb to the charm of the iconic OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, arguably the most famous chronograph on Earth, and beyond. Chosen by NASA in 1965 for all its manned space missions, it took part in the greatest space expeditions, notably becoming the first watch worn on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.
For a long time, apart from special and limited editions, Omega's Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch was only available in stainless steel with a black dial and Hesalite or sapphire crystal. After introducing the current Moonwatch with caliber 3861 in 2021, the brand added the Sedna, Moonshine and Canopus Gold models. A few months ago, Omega also added a white dial option to its catalog, which seems to be attracting a new audience in addition to Speedmaster enthusiasts.
For 2024, Manufacture Omega is enriching its Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch collection with two new two-tone models. A perfect combo for collectors finding the steel models too boring or the "full gold" versions too expensive
The Moonwatch Bicolore Steel & Gold Sedna
This 42mm two-tone model in stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ gold features a sapphire crystal on both the front and case back. Inspired by the 4th-generation Speedmaster worn on the Moon, this watch features an asymmetrical case with black ceramic bezel, and a tachymeter scale that displays the famous dot above the number 90 in OMEGA Ceragold™.
The stepped dial in PVD-treated 18K Sedna™ gold features a sunray pattern. It is adorned with the OMEGA logo and applied hour markers, Sedna™ 18K gold hands and black-coated counters, including a small seconds counter, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter.
The watch features a black alligator strap with folding clasp.
The OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861
Through its sapphire caseback is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer 3861 caliber. This movement is nothing new, as it has already equipped all new versions of the Moonwatch since 2021. It's the latest version of the legendary caliber 321 trusted by astronauts on the moon, and this movement is partly based on caliber 1861, albeit with no less than 50% new components.
It features a Co-Axial escapement, which reduces friction and increases its precision, which averages between 0 and +5 seconds per day. Officially certified by METAS, this caliber is capable of withstanding magnetic fields in excess of 15,000 gauss and has a 50-hour power reserve. As for decoration, the Omega 3861 caliber of this Speedmaster Moonwatch is rhodium-plated and its bridges are decorated with Côtes de Genève.
Did you know?
Any genuine Speedmaster Moonwatch is defined by a few details referring to its origins. The material used for this two-tone version is Sedna gold, but what else? Unique to the brand, this material is a highly resistant, flamboyant pink gold alloy with enhanced longevity. It takes its name from an orbiting object that has been described as one of the reddest objects in our solar system. As you can see, this Speedmaster Moonwatch model shines and won't go unnoticed!
