A French story

In 1950, Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal reached the summit of Annapurna. For the first time in the history of mankind, men conquered a peak above 8,000 meters. They were French, and it was with their LIP Himalaya watches that they looked at the time as they reached the top of the “first 8,000”. Five years later, in the spring of 1955, the Himalayans beat a new record on the arms of Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy, when they made the first ascent of Makalu, the world's 5th highest peak at 8485 meters. The model

A resolutely vintage style, radiant with light. This Lip Himalaya ladies' watch features an automatic movement and a 29 mm polished, brushed and gilded 316L stainless steel case, a size that will suit all feminine wrists. Its lightly silvered white dial has an open heart at 6 o'clock, to admire the automatic movement in operation, and is covered by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The movement is also visible through the transparent screw-down caseback, which ensures water resistance to 50 m. The hour-markers and hands are gilded, and the second hand is tinted red at the tip.
