The genesis of the project

Ressence simultaneously unveils two models, the warm Grey and the refreshing Aqua. These shades accompany a major evolution: the brand's very first 39 mm watch, a subtle advance in case design.

Building on the minimalist principles and proven technology of the TYPE 8, the TYPE 9 revisits its codes by refining both its size and its horological details. At the heart of this creation is the ROCS 9 module, housed in a re-imagined polished titanium case. Its design evokes the gentle movement of a wave, striking a perfect balance between strength and fluidity, like a tango in perfect harmony.

For the first time, Ressence places the minute indicator outside the dial, forming a fixed bezel with engraved hour markers and accentuating the watch's compactness. Circled finishes on the bezel and hour ring add a touch of refinement, while the lugs discreetly recall the codes of classic watchmaking, contributing to an elegant and sophisticated design.

Watchmaking refinement

The TYPE 9 introduces more traditional horological finishes, with titanium-rimmed details, flowing lugs that integrate harmoniously with an elegant 20/18 mm bracelet, and a bezel serving as a minute indicator. These elements give the watch a more classic design, while retaining Ressence's emblematic two-dimensional display (ROCS). Entirely produced in Switzerland, TYPE 9 strikes a perfect balance between past and future, stillness and movement. 39mm for 39 grams

By reducing the diameter to 39 mm, Ressence has created a watch perfectly suited to slim wrists, while boasting a featherweight of just 39 grams, strap included. Combined with the absence of a crown and a Grade 5 titanium case, the result is a sophisticated yet comfortable watch - blending classic elegance with everyday ease.

Two colors, a harmonious duo

For the first time, Ressence offers two colors simultaneously, for greater versatility and personal expression. TYPE 9 Grey embodies timeless refinement, while Aqua breathes invigorating energy. Although distinct, these two watches complement each other perfectly, like dance partners. In keeping with previous Ressence designs and the company's founding principle of ergonomic design, the Type 9 has no visible crown to distinguish right- or left-handed wear. Instead, the case back rotates to set the time. When setting the time, the rotation of the case back also winds the mechanical movement. The watch's ambidextrous design, as well as its tapered, organic shape in addition to its lightness, make it a comfortable object to wear on all wrists.

The Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS 9)

The unique time display is only possible with the patented ROCS 9 system, which has been designed using a series of ruby gears and ball bearings to ensure long-lasting, oil-free operation. This module replaces hands with rotating dials and demonstrates Ressence's mechanical ingenuity, paving the way for a new future in traditional mechanical watchmaking. The module is powered by an automatic mechanical movement with a 36-hour reserve, which has been extensively customized and reinforced to suit Ressence's requirements.
