Fred Lip's dynamic involvement in the world of sports, and in particular motor sports, is no secret. Starting out on motorcycles in the 1920s, with which he set numerous records, Fred Lip turned to the automotive world after becoming CEO of the family watch manufacturer Lip in 1945, as a great enthusiast of mechanics and innovation. At the helm of the world's 7th largest watchmaking company, and France's leading watchmaking company in 1962, Fred Lip combined his passion for the watchmaking world with his affinity for motor sports, two fields in which precision engineering plays a vital role. On his instructions, Fred Lip had racing cars built by some of the leading manufacturers of the day, including Ferrari and Lamborghini. The style of the “Rallye” collection is rooted in this quest that has always animated Fred Lip: to combine the agility of his company's management with the dynamism of the world of speed and the prestige offered by motor sports.

The model

This Lip Rallye mecha-quartz chronograph, accurate to 1/5th of a second up to 60 minutes, has a 39 mm stainless steel case, mounted on a perforated brown leather strap with white stitching and a pin buckle. The watch features a blue and white panda dial, an internal tachometric bezel, a date window and a 24-hour counter. A model with a resolutely vintage look.
