DSI diamond jewelry
There are four criteria for determining the quality of a diamond, known as the "4Cs": Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat. In French, these four terms refer to the color, clarity, cut and carat of the gem respectively. The cut indicates the way the stone was cut, the shape the cutter chose to give it in order to bring out its beauty. Indeed, a diamond in its raw state does not have at all the brilliance and sparkle that it has once it has been worked and mounted on a piece of jewelry. The cut is determined by the location of natural imperfections within the diamond, which appear at the time of its formation depending on the elements that enter into its composition. Created from carbon, under extreme temperature and pressure, diamond is a stone that needs hundreds of thousands of years before being born and rising to the surface of the earth's crust. These imperfections are called "inclusions" in gemology, and correspond to the "clarity" criterion, i.e. the purity of the stone. These are categorized according to a classification ranging from FL to P3, i.e. from Flawless (no internal or external defects), a remarkable but rare quality, to P3 (pitted). The purity is determined by viewing with a magnifying glass at x10 magnification. "SI" stands for Small Inclusions, very small inclusions, which guarantee a magnificent purity to the diamond. This quality is the standard for all Lepage diamonds. In addition to purity and cut, the color of the diamond is a decisive criterion for selecting a beautiful stone. This time, stones are categorized from D (the best color that can exist for a diamond, which corresponds to "exceptional white +") to Z (yellowish). At Lepage, the main stones that adorn our jewelry are at least F color, which is "extra white +". Jewelry adorned with D-color diamonds is therefore a piece of unparalleled beauty, with a brilliant white color. Finally, the last criterion for determining the rarity and value of a diamond is its carat, or weight. The carat does not necessarily correspond to the volume of the stone, because depending on the size of the stone (round, oval, princess, navette, pear...) the final volume of the gem will appear more or less imposing. In order to offer our customers a tailor-made service, many of Lepage's creations are available in DSI or FSI versions, i.e. admirable qualities to offer you exceptional jewelry. You will be able to choose the stone you need on your jewel according to your budget and your desires! The choice is feasible on round brilliant diamonds of more than 0,5 carat, but we can adapt to a personalized request if you wish a particular quality of stone on a lower diameter. Do not hesitate to contact us, we will accompany you in the search for the stone you need, and will be able to establish an estimate in order to give life to a tailor-made realization.
