Planet Ocean 600M: A now iconic model

Following the launch of the Diver 300M, Seamaster was swept along by a whirlwind of creativity. The early 2000s saw the arrival of several new models that are now considered modern classics. This is particularly true of the very first Seamaster Planet Ocean, unveiled in 2005. It, too, adopted many of the codes of the Seamaster 300, but was distinguished from the other models in the collection - and indeed from all the other watches in the world - by a signature feature: the Co-Axial escapement. Numerous other models were presented, always with the innovation aspect very much at the heart of this range.

This “Dark Grey” watch was discreetly unveiled at the end of 2023, and it surprised Omega enthusiasts with its use of innovative materials and resolutely modern color palette!

A unique ceramic case!

The appeal of this watch lies in its 45.5 mm case made of silicon nitride ceramic, a material twice as light as traditional ceramic. Combined with grade 5 titanium, used for the helium valve and bezel, this choice gives the watch exceptional lightness and resistance, while offering a modern, elegant aesthetic.

The gray dial, also in ceramic, boasts a clean, legible design. The blackened hands and hour markers, coated with Super-LumiNova, ensure perfect visibility in all circumstances. The date window at 3 o'clock adds an extra touch of practicality.

A high-precision titanium movement

At the heart of this watch beats the Omega caliber 8906Ti, a manufacture movement made entirely of titanium. This unique ultra-light movement is housed behind the NAIAD LOCK caseback, which features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and chrome nitride inscriptions. Master Chronometer certified, it guarantees exceptional chronometric precision and resistance to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss.
