Launched in 2000 by Jacques Helleu after seven years' work, the J12 is inspired by the lines of America's Cup yachts. Made entirely of steel and ceramics, it captures and reflects light in a choice of black and white. Androgynous and contemporary, it is equally suited to men's and women's wrists.

Mademoiselle Chanel said that "Black holds everything. White too. They are absolutely beautiful. It's the perfect match." It was this guiding principle that led the late artistic director of the Maison de Couture to imagine a timeless watch, with sleek, monochrome lines. The brilliance of the ceramic radiates light, giving the J12 an extremely elegant look.

A gentle transformation

Twenty years after its launch, the J12 has been given a new look, while retaining its original identity. Its bezel has been slimmed down, allowing the dial to open up wider. Its 38 mm diameter makes it suitable for both men's and women's wrists.

A Manufacture movement

The new J12 is equipped with the Manufacture calibre 12.1 automatic movement, developed exclusively for Chanel. Certified Chronometer by the COSC, it features a graphic oscillating weight that you will enjoy admiring through the sapphire crystal caseback. This model features a moon phase at 6 o'clock and a hand to indicate the day.
