The Zimbe Editions

The Seiko Zimbe, are a series of limited editions reserved exclusively for the Thai market. This series has quickly captured the hearts of watch enthusiasts around the world. Launched in 2016 with reference SRPA19, famous for its gray dial evoking a sea turtle, this collection takes its name from the Japanese “Jinbei Zame”, meaning whale shark. A total of 15 references have been released, and each Zimbe model is an “edition” different from the basic model and limited in production. Because of their rarity and appeal, Zimbes are highly prized by collectors.

MM300: a diver like no other

Do we really need to introduce the famous Japanese “Toolwatch” MM300? This diver's watch is one of Seiko's iconic Diver's models! A one-piece case, water-resistant to 300 meters, with no helium valve, it is inspired by the design of the first Diver's Hi-Beat watch from 1968. Although it lost its “MM300” appellation when the “Prospex” collection was introduced with reference SLA021, it retains all its codes!

This Zimbe model, limited to 428 pieces, features the famous 44 mm-diameter, 15 mm-thick case, which despite its apparently simple design, is made up of multiple complex facets, including 5 on the lugs, and displays impeccable finishes alternating between brushing and satin-finishing. It features a DiaShield coating to counter scratches and the effects of corrosion on steel. This version features a unidirectional blue ceramic bezel with 120 notches.

The dial is textured, with vertical lines, and plays the contrast card, with a blue background and circled indexes and red baton indexes at the four cardinal corners. The hands are large and massive, and for optimum legibility, the famous “Made in Seiko” luminescent paint is used: lumibrite. All this, of course, is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Bracelet-wise, we're supplied! This watch comes with two straps, one in steel with a folding clasp featuring a sliding diving extension, and the other in black embossed silicone echoing the brand's early divers.

A movement worthy of a GS!

At the heart of this diver's watch is the 8L35 caliber, an automatic movement developed specifically to meet the demands of sports watch enthusiasts. This mechanical movement stands out for its robustness, precision and comfortable power reserve of around 50 hours. It is based on a Grand Seiko 9S caliber blank, but the latter is undecorated and specifically designed to withstand shock, vibration and pressure variations, ensuring the 8L35's unfailing reliability, even under the most extreme conditions. This one is hand-assembled at Seiko's Shizukuishi Watch Studio, guaranteeing superior manufacturing quality to the other movements in the range.

The package

This unusual Seiko is in beautiful condition and comes Full Set with its case, manual and warranty card. It was released in July 2023. Like all our 10h10 watches, this one has been checked by our watchmaker (operation and water-resistance) and as such benefits from a one-year warranty.
