The story

If today Citizen is best known for its affordable watches, it's worth remembering that the Japanese brand was one of the pioneers in the use of titanium in watchmaking. In 1970, Citizen was the first company to market a titanium watch. Building on this expertise, which is certainly expected in high-end watches, Citizen is now launching a new Super-Titanium series. And after last month's launch of a small-second version of its now-famous Tsuyosa, Citizen is continuing in the same vein, but in a completely different and bloody clever way. This is how it introduces the Super Titanium Chronographe Eco-Drive series CA4610, watches with integrated bracelets that are more modern, lighter and just as affordable!

The model

Although not part of the Tsuyosa collection, it could almost be considered its titanium "Chrono" sister! This model features a tonneau-shaped case measuring 42.5 mm in diameter and 11.6 mm thick, an ideal size combined with 100-meter water-resistance and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Topped with a polished circular bezel, the case is made of Super Titanium with the Duratect surface-hardening process, giving it lightness and strength.

This design is complemented by a dial featuring a unique texture reminiscent of natural surfaces such as rock. On this model, the dial is blue. The display features a date at 4:30, a small seconds at 6 o'clock, a 60-minute counter at 9 o'clock and a 24-hour display at 3 o'clock! The large applied indexes and luminescent hands ensure clarity of reading. To complete the sporty-chic 1970s look of this Citizen CA4610 Series, an integrated Super Titanium bracelet is fastened with a folding clasp.

This new version is powered by a Manufacture Eco-Drive B620-00M caliber, which runs on solar energy. No more changing the battery every year, as this watch incorporates a rechargeable battery that is charged by exposing the dial to light, such as sunlight or fluorescent lamps. This movement is precise (+/- 15 seconds per month) and offers 270 days of power reserve if the watch is not used!
