An ode to mechanics
The Propilot X collection from Oris is an ode to mechanics. When it was presented in 2019 by the Hölstein Manufacture, it marked a real turning point, with its ultra-modern design and a high-performance caliber that can reach 10 days of power reserve. This avant-garde aesthetic proposed a real stylistic break next to the "vintage" Big Crown Pointer Date and other Sixty-Five watches that dominate at Oris. The rest of the collection arrived in 2022, with the Propilot X Calibre 400. This is another big coup for the brand, as these models are recognizable at first glance by taking up the codes of the previously released Propilot x Calibre 115.
Inspired by aviation
The ProPilot X collection is part of a long line of Oris aviator watches dating back to the early 1900s, but it's much more than that: it awakens the joys of mechanics in us. With its powerful and seductive lines, the Propilot X is made entirely of titanium. A metal that gives it strength, lightness, resistance to corrosion and hypoallergenic quality. In terms of design, we find the signature elements of the Big Crown ProPilot. A fluted oversized crown and a bezel with a relief reminiscent of the propellers of an aircraft engine. The same decoration distinguishes the transparent screwed back. However, it is much more modern with its sleek face and tapered case extending into an integrated bracelet that hugs the wrist. The watch is very well executed, with sandblasted and satin finishes. The proportions are ideal, allowing it to sit perfectly on the wrist.
