A French history

The history between L'armée de l'Air and YEMA goes back to the early 1970s and a first endowment with Helicopter Rescue Divers with one of the first YEMA Superman models. Subsequently, other Superman models have also been used by Air Force pilots, making the Air Force Superman a unique military watch-tool with multiple uses.

Since 2019, the French Air Force and YEMA have been collaborating to offer watches inspired by the world of French military aviation and of professional quality. An inspired design

With its 40mm diameter and 9.5mm thickness, the Yema Flygraf Bi-Compax AAE displays a perfect balance between elegance and robustness. Its polished-satin 316L stainless steel case gives it a sporty yet refined look. The symmetrical, highly legible bi-compax dial is enhanced by luminescent printed hour markers and luminescent beige "aviation" hands. There are two raised counters, one at 12 o'clock to read the 60-minute timer, and the counter at 6 o'clock for the permanent small seconds. The whole is topped by a domed hesalite crystal, a nod to the aviator watches of yesteryear. The sturdy, comfortable canvas fabric strap completes this timeless design, while recalling the military world.

We appreciate a few details, such as this Flygraf Bi-Compax AAE's deliberately oversized crown, which allows all aviators to easily adjust their watch even when wearing gloves, making this model a true flying instrument. Finally, the caseback is stamped with a hydraulic press and adorned with the Air & Space Force logo.
