TAG Heuer Monaco Titanium Boutique Edition Calibre 11 automatic 39 mm Full Set 2023

The story

In 1969, Heuer made its mark with the release of the Monaco, which became the first square, waterproof automatic chronograph! The release of the film "Le Mans" in 1971 propelled the Monaco to international prominence thanks to Steve McQueen, who wore a Heuer Monaco in the film, providing a series of iconic images that even today are a central element of TAG Heuer's marketing campaigns.

The original version of the Heuer Monaco was available for less than 10 years, having been introduced in 1969 and the last version produced around 1978. TAG Heuer's reissues of the Monaco, however, have met with great success, having been offered in a variety of models over the past 25 years. Indeed, the Monaco chronograph may have been ahead of its time in the 1970s, but it has established itself as a modern classic in the 21st century.

What you need to know

Presented in 2023 within selected TAG Heuer boutiques, this watch is a numbered edition limited to 50 pieces! It was only available to selected customers.

This Monaco Calibre 11 Boutique Edition first draws some of its inspiration from one of Heuer's most sought-after references, the Monaco reference 1133B. This is exactly the same reference that McQueen wore in Le Mans and which is now on display at the TAG Heuer Museum! This version appeared in 1969 and disappeared in 1975.

For this very special edition, the brand has chosen to make it truly unique, combining the best of the past and the present! It features a 39 mm-diameter polished-satin titanium case, with a beveled sapphire crystal to great effect!

On the dial, like its predecessor, it features a flat (non-metallic) midnight blue color, brushed metallic-finish hands with luminous red inserts and red triangular tips. At 12 o'clock, the dial displays the historic Heuer logo and the name Monaco. But there are two main details that make this Monaco such a little nugget: the patinated counters and the copper-gold indexes! The result is a vintage-style design that's highly appreciated and unique on a modern Monaco! It's subtle, but quite simply exceptional. The Manufacture has raised the bar very high in terms of finish on this model.

Finally, TAG Heuer had the good taste to pair this model with a beige leather strap, which matches the counters perfectly. It is mounted on a folding clasp featuring the Heuer Vintage logo.

Engine side

No surprises when it comes to the motor! Crowned on the left, there's no doubt about it, it's Calibre 11! Beating at the classic frequency of 28,800 vib/h, and with a 40-hour autonomy, Calibre 11 is made up of a Sellita SW300 base to which TAG Heuer adds a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module. A system similar to the original caliber. And it's a real tractor!

The package

This Monaco is in exceptional condition! It was sold in December 2023, and has only been worn a few times. It will be delivered to you Full Set, in its specific case with its warranty, instructions for use and a second bracelet. This model has been authenticated and checked by our approved watchmaker and as such benefits from the Lepage Vintage 1-year warranty, but also from the TAG Heuer warranty until 2028.
