An independent, family-run Manufacture

H. Moser & Cie. was founded by Heinrich Moser in 1828. A watchmaker of genius, he was also an enlightened businessman, a shrewd entrepreneur and an internationally renowned industrial pioneer, particularly in St. Petersburg, where he became the darling of the aristocracy.

Named the "little Schaffhausen pearl", (a small town in German-speaking Switzerland), the almost two-hundred-year-old brand is currently one of the few and only independent family watchmaking companies. The Manufacture employs 100 people, has 14 manufactured calibers and produces 3,000 watches a year. With its fully integrated Manufacture and production facilities, H. Moser & Cie. is able to certify that each and every one of its handcrafted watches corresponds to the brand's values. From the design and production of its own mechanical movements to the complex operations of shaping and heat-treating each balance-spring, every watch the Manufacture produces is a true work of art.

A very "Blue" edition!

As a long-standing partner of the Moser & Cie. watch brand, Bucherer shares many values: indeed, these are two independent, Swiss companies based in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. In 2014, on the occasion of the Basel Fair, Moser decided to pay tribute to Bucherer by creating the Venturer Small Seconds Bucherer Edition. The distinctive feature of this particularly successful timepiece? The midnight-blue color of the dial and the exclusive balance wheel and balance spring, created especially for this model. What's special about this model? It was a non-limited edition, available only in Bucherer stores in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. It was also the only Venturer available in a white gold case!

Since then, the Bucherer retailer has decided since 2016 to collaborate with numerous brands to produce other models with a "Bucherer Blue" colored dial!

A model watch of sobriety and elegance

Venturer: this name evokes Heinrich Moser's successful business adventures and celebrates his entrepreneurial spirit. Elegant, refined and utterly sober, this creation reinterprets the aesthetic codes of the Venturer family, with clean lines and a design that draws its inspiration from H. Moser & Cie.'s historic pocket watches, as well as the convex shapes typical of the 1960s.

Thus we find a 39mm white gold case that sports a convex profile highlighted by a curved sapphire crystal, whose curve is echoed by the dial and long, tapering hands with curved edges. These hands and indexes are crafted in the same metal as the case.

The bezel offers a wide opening onto the dial highlighting its exceptional color, a sumptuous smoky blue. This unprecedented midnight blue features a "sunbeam" finish that adds extra relief. According to the brand, this smoky dial evokes the sky at night, and blue symbolizes fidelity. This color produces a surprising aesthetic that goes equally well with professional or more casual attire.

Like all watches designed and produced by this small, independent Manufacture, this Venturer is powered by a caliber designed and manufactured in-house. On this model, we find the HMC 327, a hand-wound movement dedicated specifically to the Venturer Small Seconds, which enables a small seconds display perfectly positioned as close as possible to the bottom of the dial.

This caliber with a frequency of 18,000 vibrations (classic in Haute Horlogerie) features traditional watchmaking finishing (côtes de Genève à la "Moser", polished and hand-finished beveled corners, and an interesting layout of the bridges), an original Straumann Hairspring® in silicon, a three-day power reserve and a stop seconds function. What we also appreciate about H. Moser & Cie is its ability to produce its balance spring and key escapement components, such as the balance wheel and screws, in gold. In this way, the watchmakers were able to produce the balance spring and balance wheel in a blue color similar to that of the dial! Finally, note the power reserve indicator positioned on the side of the movement, keeping the dial uncluttered.

The package

H. Moser & Cie offers us with this Venturer a beautifully crafted dress watch, far more interesting than some of the big Houses. A very good watchmaking choice for initiates or those wanting to get off the beaten track! In our opinion, this watch is one of the most attractive models produced by the brand and is perfect for those who find the new artistic direction far too minimalist.

This 2015 reference 2327-0202 is in excellent condition and will be delivered Full Set with its case and warranty. It is dressed in a black alligator leather strap with a white gold pin buckle. Like all the watches presented on 10h10, this Venturer has been tested and authenticated by our watchmakers. Please note that the watch received a full maintenance service in 2023.
