Bell & Ross, a conqueror of the abyss since 1997

When it comes to nautical matters, Bell & Ross has known its subject in depth since 1997, when its first diver's watch, the Hydromax, set a world record for water resistance to 11,100 meters. This major technical innovation lay in the perfect filling of the case with a patented transparent fluorinated oil.

Ten years later, a second diver appears with the BR 02 collection, water-resistant to 1,000 meters and dedicated specifically to the underwater world. On the technical side, they feature a helium decompression valve and ultra-resistant curved sapphire crystal: essential elements during saturation dives.

Since 2017, with the arrival of the BR 03-92 Diver model to the instrument-watch family, Bell & Ross has taken on a new aesthetic bias: not all divers are round. Faithful to the House's DNA, they retranscribe the functionality of fighter aircraft instrument panels with a case marrying a round in a square.

In 2018, Bell & Ross added a striking new variation by carving the 42 x 42 mm square case in bronze, a noble material from the marine world. This material, long renowned for its robustness alone, now sees its color and patina celebrated by watch lovers and collectors.

2024: A 7th anniversary that marks a change!

2024 is an important date for the BR 03 Diver range, which celebrates its 7th anniversary! This milestone certainly marks a form of maturity based on experience. Adopted by marine professionals, and much more widely by lovers of the nautical world in general, the BR 03 Diver family of divers has set a milestone in the stylistic definition of underwater watches. The renewal of the BR 03 Diver range, with three new references for the central steel model, but also a new model in matt black ceramic and a new Full Lum version, is a natural and rational evolution for these models. Discreet but profound, the technical or graphic evolutions are justified and not content with surface aesthetic retouching.

So, what can we expect from this "evolution"? Perfected components, such as a ceramic insert and an improved movement, which guarantee increased durability and a power reserve extended to 54 hours. The aesthetics are not left out, with new typography and redesigned hands for optimal legibility, even in the most extreme conditions. This new collection also features a new bracelet, ensuring a perfect fit for all wrists. With its new BR 03 DIVER divers, Bell & Ross raises the standards of performance and legibility offering divers an unrivalled underwater experience.

The BR 03 Diver collection: a family of certified divers

All the instrument watches in the BR 03 family from Bell & Ross are designed as professional-quality tools for divers. To meet the legitimate expectations of those accustomed to the aquatic environment, the new BR 03 DIVER comply with the international ISO 6425 standard, according to which a "watch must withstand diving in water to a depth of at least 100 meters and have a time control system". Underwater, the watch's indications must remain visible at a distance of 25 cm in the dark.

In addition to this, the watch's operation must be checked underwater, at a depth of 30 cm (+/- 2cm) for 50 hours, between 18 and 25°c. After this time, the mechanisms must still function correctly. Watches are also tested to prove that they are not sensitive to thermal shock, can withstand excess water pressure, do not form condensation under certain conditions, and the winding crown must also pass a test of strength.

Perfectly meeting all of these demanding specifications, the new BR 03 DIVER, equipped with the BR-CAL.302-1 self-winding mechanical movement beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour (4 Hz) and guaranteeing a 54-hour power reserve, are all water-resistant to 300 meters.

The BR 03 Diver Steel model: the reference!

With its proven design and reliability, the BR 03 Diver Steel from Bell & Ross knows how to make itself indispensable to divers. Beneath the surface of the sea, a universe unnatural to man, the watch is a survival tool. Without a perfect command of time, whether descending or ascending, scuba diving is particularly dangerous. The diver must be able to have absolute confidence in his watch.

The BR 03 Diver Steel collection, with its 42 x 42 mm case in satin-finish polished steel, is statutory. It comes in three permanent references: one black, one white and one blue. For each, the unidirectional rotating bezel with 60-minute graduation is now enhanced by a ceramic insert in a color matching that of the dial. In another notable update, the hands and hour-markers have been redesigned for even greater legibility, and the strap, in rubber or ultra-resistant synthetic fabric, has evolved in the direction of comfort and sobriety.
