The artist

Daniel Arsham is a New York-based artist whose practice encompasses fine art, architecture, performance and film. Arsham's iconic works blend past, present and future, highlighting the malleability and power of nostalgia, often through references to moments from the late twentieth century.

He is one of the most influential and sought-after contemporary artists in the industry. He studied at New York's Cooper Union and has exhibited in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles and London. His former collaborators include fashion designer Hedi Slimane, Dior artistic director Kim Jones, Porsche and Pokémon. His work is known for what commentators have described as a "mythic contemporary archaeology", whereby he takes familiar forms and erodes or reshapes them.

The project

The model

Made from a harmonious blend of titanium, rubber and sapphire crystal, the Arsham Droplet testifies to Hublot's love of detail and quest for innovation. The result, ergonomic and pleasing, fits perfectly in the hand thanks to its dimensions of 73.2 mm (length) by 52.6 mm (width) by 22.5 mm (thickness) and thus offers a totally immersive and captivating watchmaking experience.

The watch is driven by the iconic Meca-10, a Hublot manufacture movement that boasts an impressive 10-day power reserve: the user can enjoy his unique watch for long periods without having to wind it frequently, and a close bond is forged between the user and this unique creation.

The organic design is complemented by a titanium case and rubber protections - a bold detachment from traditional watchmaking norms. Offered with two titanium chains, each equipped with Hublot's patented dual One Click system for easy attachment, the watch can be sported in a multitude of ways: necklace, pocket watch or sculptural centerpiece on its decorative table stand in titanium and mineral glass.

Made of titanium, the openwork case - like fine lace - features a sandwich construction with two sumptuous domed crystals, also teardrop-shaped. The side protectors, in Arsham Green-colored rubber, are embossed with the artist's monogram.

The case is equipped with a double sealing system comprising no fewer than 17 O-rings ingeniously arranged to guarantee perfect water-resistance. The watch also boasts Hublot's iconic design codes, including the six screws with H-shaped heads.

Thanks to the integration of cutting-edge watchmaking technologies, the Arsham Droplet boasts water resistance to 30 meters, ensuring durability and reliability in all circumstances.
