Rolex's Date and Datejust models are as closely related as their names suggest, sharing the same basic design and functionality. The main difference, as has been the case from the outset, lies in their respective sizes. 36 mm for the Datejust and 34 mm for the Date.

This beautiful Rolex we're pleased to present today is an automatic Oyster Perpetual Date reference 15000, and is one of the best value vintage Rolex watches on the market. Priced slightly lower than the better-known and slightly larger Rolex Datejust, the vintage Oyster-Perpetual Date is a must-have thanks to its contained size and unique dials.

This reference 15000 is an uncommon and often overlooked model. This model was introduced in 1980 and is the direct successor to the long line of Rolex reference models. 1500. The 15000 uses the 3035 movement, which features a quick-set date function, and an "armored" bracelet, while sporting tritium dials and a domed Plexiglas crystal.

The "modern" construction and vintage look of the Oyster-Perpetual 15000 is hard to match, offering the best of both worlds.

The model

This model has a silver sunray dial to great effect. It allows the details to really shine, like its baton hour markers and hands. The mention T- Swiss Made -T at 6 o'clock informs us of the presence of tritium and we notice that the tritium studs have nicely patinated.

This Vintage Rolex is mounted on an Oyster bracelet reference 78350, which perfectly matches this reference. Its case is in excellent condition, with thick, symmetrical lugs. In short, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual was, is, and always will be a "must have" for every collector on the planet.

The package

The watch is in very good condition. Its dial, hands and indexes show no signs of fatigue, and will skate over time thanks to the presence of tritium.
