In our universe, our planet's oceans are naturally linked to the movements of the Moon. At OMEGA, this connection is also illustrated in its "Deep Black" ceramic collection. Since the release of the Speedmaster "Dark Side of the Moon" in 2013, OMEGA has advanced its expertise in ceramics to succeed in building the Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Black", pushing the boundaries of its craftsmanship even further.

This 45.5 mm watch is the result of the remarkable combination of a GMT model and a diver's watch. The real technical challenge was to create a diver's watch made entirely of ceramic, and capable of withstanding pressures of 60 bars at a depth of 600m. The result? An exceptional creation, a veritable pearl of the watchmaking industry. Entirely black, it recalls the color of the ocean at a depth of 300 meters. Its shiny, satin-finish case has been fashioned from a single block of ceramic, the same material used on the unidirectional bezel and the dial adorned with Arabic numerals and a GMT scale.

The watch is also distinguished by the honeycomb pattern adorning its screw-down caseback and black rubber strap with contrasting topstitching and antibacterial treatment on the lining.

The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer GMT is water-resistant to 600 metres (60bars / 2,000ft) and equipped with a helium valve. The OMEGA Master Chronometer 8906 calibre at the heart of this watch is visible through the transparent case-back. To obtain Master Chronometer certification, it had to pass eight rigorous tests established by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology.
