The OMEGA Constellation collection has long been inspired by the precise movement of the stars. This year, the stellar theme continues with a new range of models featuring unique dials created from meteorite. The watch you choose for your wrist will reveal its own character...
Omega Constellation, the height of sophistication
The Constellation collection is one of Manufacture Omega's most emblematic lines, and has been since 1952. Embodying the pinnacle of sophistication and precision, it pays tribute to the many precision records achieved by the Maison throughout the 20th century. It was in 1982 that the model was revisited with the characteristic elements we all know and still see today: the claws on each side of the case, the half-moon facets and the Constellation star located at six o'clock.
These elements are inspired by the precise movement of the stars. And for this year 2024, this stellar theme continues with a new range of models featuring unique dials created from meteorite. And not just any meteorite! The dials are derived from the Muonionalusta meteorite, probably the oldest known meteorite on Earth, over 4.5 billion years old. Thanks to the natural patterns found in this ancient space material, each slice is unique. For OMEGA customers, this means that no two dials will ever be identical. The watch you choose for your wrist will reveal its own character!
The model
This 41 mm model reference 131.30.41.21.99.001 features a single-row stainless steel case and bracelet. This watch sports the signature Constellation features, including polished claws, half-moon facets and Liquidmetal™ Roman numerals on a black ceramic bezel.
The sublime dial is composed of a genuine ferrous meteorite fragment that has received a rhodium-gray treatment. A date window at 6 o'clock, as well as black PVD hands, hour markers and a Constellation star also adorn the dial.
An ultra-high-precision caliber
Behind its sapphire crystal caseback is an OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8900 caliber, visible through the domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal caseback. This self-winding movement features a Co-Axial escapement and is certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, offering a precision of 0 to +5 seconds per day. To achieve such precision, highly advanced technology and construction is required, including a free sprung balance with silicon balance spring, enabling it to withstand magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss. With its automatic bi-directional winding and two barrels fitted in series, caliber 8900 delivers a comfortable 60-hour power reserve. The movement's finish is equally attractive, with rhodium-plated rotor and bridges featuring an exclusive Côtes de Genève arabesque pattern.
