The story

Launched in 1967, the 62GS marked a crucial milestone in Grand Seiko's history. Not only did it demonstrate technical excellence as the brand's first automatic watch, it also introduced a distinctive design that has influenced the brand for decades. A few years ago, the 62GS enjoyed a resurgence, gaining popularity thanks to references such as the SBGA413, SBGA415, SBGH271, SBGH273 and SBGH295, mainly stemming from the "24 seasons" capsule inspired by the beauty of Japanese landscapes.

Iconic design

All the above models share common features, including a 40mm-diameter steel case, generous dial opening, "box-shaped" sapphire crystal , bezel-less construction and Grand Seiko's signature Zaratsu polishing technique. With this new model, the Manufacture presents a new interpretation of the 62GS, retaining many fundamental design elements but reducing the case diameter to 38 mm.

Made from high-intensity titanium, the case of this watch features a refined aesthetic with a diameter of 38 mm and a measured thickness of 12.9 mm. The lugs are 20 mm apart, ensuring a balanced, comfortable fit. Featuring a high-intensity titanium bracelet with triple clasp, each watch combines style with everyday functionality.

A dial inspired by snow-covered cherry blossoms

In a pale pink hue, the dial of this SBGH341 recalls the "Sakura-Kakushi", a rare spectacle that evokes the first cherry blossoms hidden by the late winter snows. The fragility and ephemeral nature of "Sakura-Kakushi" ("hidden cherry blossoms") inspired Japanese master craftsmen to create this dial with its subtle motifs and delicate nuances.
