The brand's iconic collection

Born in 1999, the Highlife collection has left its mark on the history of Geneva-based Frederique Constant. Since its launch, it has embodied the values that have contributed to the brand's success: a faithful design inspired by fine Swiss watchmaking, a high degree of finishing and particular care to offer the fairest price for accessible luxury.

A limited edition of 432

Since announcing their partnership in June 2022, Frédérique Constant and French musician and producer The Avener have been working together on future successes: two limited-edition timepieces of 432 pieces each, co-designed by the Artist.

Fittingly, this model is one of two, celebrating this horlo-musical friendship. 432 is a number that owes nothing to chance: 432 Hz is considered the perfect frequency, the one that soothes, the frequency of absolute harmony. At its heart beats the FC-303 automatic caliber, which itself beats at 4Hz!

A very seventies design and a unique dial

This Highlife joins a long line of sport-chic watches with a very Seventies design, with its seductive, curvaceous lines! Its 39 mm steel case is an unprecedented diameter. It alternates polished and satin-finished surfaces, and its lugs-free design means that the bracelet falls smoothly and naturally onto the wrist. A special feature of the Highlife collection, the latter is interchangeable, and can be alternated with the second black rubber strap with no tools required.

On this reference, we find one that translates its oscillations, as they are tracked on studio monitors. These oscillations run right through the Highlife's dial, in blue on a black dial. This color has a very special meaning for The Avener: the blue of his first album, a global success driven by the single Fade Out Lines. The creation seems to capture a fragment of his music, a few bars of sheet music. A dial that combines the rhythm of the musician and producer with that of precision Swiss mechanics.

The term "a tempo" caps the latter. Dear to The Avener, it expresses on a score the resumption of the normal tempo after a faster or slower parenthesis - a resumption of rhythm in BPM, or Beats Per Minute, DJs would rather say about their hits.

A Swiss automatic caliber

This Highlife therefore embarks the self-winding FC-303 caliber. Based on the Sellita SW200, it beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a comfortable 38-hour power reserve.

But this caliber isn't just high-performance. It's also beautifully finished. Visible through its transparent caseback, the timepiece exposes its mechanical intimacy and the finishes dear to the Geneva manufacture, such as the Côtes de Genève and circular graining on the plate, without limit.

A case ready for the road

As for its case, this is an original creation specially designed for these limited series. It's a faithful reproduction of a flight case, the equipment case that all musicians take with them on tour. Reinforced on all sides, the flight case is emblematic of concerts, the backstage atmosphere and the most precious equipment. This is where the artist's Highlife takes its place, at the center of a black interior with, on either side, the additional bracelet and the limited edition plaque.
