The power and racy character that emanate from this Offshore Diver come as much from its performance as from its looks. Inimitable, the legendary octagon is in itself a symbol of the sports watch. And here it is again, more conquering than ever. True to its origins, the case is in stainless steel, which, it should be remembered, is an initiative of AP, which invented the first luxury steel watch in 1972 with the legendary Royal Oak. An unprecedented coup, which elevated steel to the same rank as gold. The 42 mm-diameter, 14.1 mm-thick case features satin-finish and polished finishes, providing a superb contrast. The crown at 10 o'clock accentuates the model's technicality with a rubber overmolding. Another distinctive feature is the octagonal bezel with eight hexagonal and, of course, polished screws.

Water-resistant to 300 m, the Royal Oak Offshore Diver features a diving scale on an internal rotating bezel. The bezel is rotated by a unidirectional ratchet mechanism linked to the crown positioned at 10 o'clock. This mechanism enhances the technical sophistication of the model while preserving the legendary aesthetics of the octagon. The case middle protects the internal rotation mechanism from external aggression. The display of the dive scale as close as possible to the dial allows better reading of the dive time, while minimizing the risk of unintentional modification of the dive time.

Eleven faceted, luminescent white gold indexes, including a double index at 12 o'clock, are applied to the dial. The white gold hands are also faceted and luminescent. The hour hand is distinguished by two additional lateral bands of luminescent deposit, while the minute hand is bright yellow, to recall this "Funky Colours" side. All of these indications are highlighted by the blue "Mega Tapestry" decoration, a unique motif emblematic of the Royal Oak Offshore collection.

The caliber 3120

This 15710ST is powered by Audemars Piguet's self-winding caliber 3120. This movement is distinguished by a number of features, starting with a direct-drive center seconds that eliminates friction. It also boasts greater reliability thanks to a through balance bridge. What's more, running accuracy is enhanced thanks to a power reserve of over sixty hours.

This haute horlogerie movement is also perfectly realized. Through the sapphire caseback, you can admire the manual decoration of this movement. The bridges align harmoniously around the traversing balance bridge. Decorated with côtes de Genève, they particularly highlight the chamfering of the screw heads and slots, as well as the perfectly polished chamfering of the holes. The angles, counterbores and moldings are diamond-polished, and the plate is circular-grained. Finally, the 22-carat gold oscillating weight is engraved with the AP monogram and the Audemars and Piguet family coats of arms.
