Cap Camarat: An emblematic collection

Launched in 2018 by the French watchmaking house HERBELIN, the Cap Camarat collection takes its name from a cape on the southern Saint-Tropez peninsula. Inscribing the brand's watchmaking heritage in a contemporary style, it continues to be enriched over time until offering this automatic chronograph model in 2023!

A strong 70's style

Elegantly sporty with neo-vintage charm, the Cap Camarat remains true to the spirit of the collection inspired by a 70s timepiece from the watchmaking heritage of the French house Herbelin. Identical in its hexagonal structure, accentuated by the crown protection, the 42mm 316L stainless steel case alternates between vertical brushed and polished facets, highlighting the sculpted nature of the material. Similar in finish, the bezel, adorned with six decorative screws, tempers the sharp architecture of the whole with its rounded shape.

Also characteristic of the watchmaking codes of the period, the integrated bracelet is one with the case. This version features an FKM rubber strap with a steel link to link it to the case. It perfects the racy spirit of this timepiece, water-resistant to 100 meters, while reinforcing its robust allure.

Elegance

Protected by a sapphire crystal, the silvered dial with its bicompax layout reveals a caseback with horizontal stamped and engraved decoration respectively. There is a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a small seconds counter at 9 o'clock. Positioned around the perimeter, below the black flange, the indexes, typical of the 70's with their shape inspired by Herbelin's original model, are covered in luminescent material, as are the rectangular faceted hour and minute hands, to ensure perfect legibility in the dark. Finally, the dial is completed with a date window at 6 o'clock for perfect symmetry.

A Swiss automatic chronograph caliber

This HERBELIN timepiece, water-resistant to 100 meters, embeds a Swiss-made self-winding mechanical movement, a guarantee of reliability and precision. The Sellita SW510 caliber, oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and featuring 27 jewels, boasts a power reserve of 62 hours. Visible through a transparent caseback, it reveals an oscillating weight engraved with the name of the Maison.

Made in France for having been designed, conceived, hand-assembled, regulated and controlled in the HERBELIN workshops located in the Jura mountains of Franche-Comté, this Cap Camarat automatic chronograph reflects traditional French watchmaking expertise handed down, from father to son, for over 75 years.
