BR 01-94: An aviation-inspired chronograph

Known for its aviation-inspired aesthetics and sense of aeronautical design, Bell & Ross manufactures its watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, guaranteeing impeccable quality. The BR 01 collection reproduces the specifications required by the Air Force, with unique square cases in black ceramic or stainless steel that reference on-board instruments.

With its 46 mm diameter, this BR 01-94 BLACK STEEL isn't afraid to show off! But its relatively low thickness means it can be worn comfortably by a large number of people. In brushed steel with polished bevels, the case just begs to be admired! Add to this an intriguing three-part sandwich construction: The central case is secured by visible screws, screwed in from above. By exposing these screws, Bell & Ross has captured the spirit of a cockpit instrument without succumbing to superfluity. The same thing happens on the back, where four additional screws are screwed into the corners to secure the case back. The angular lugs complete this muscular look!

As for the dial, we find the brand's distinctive typography, with its hour markers enlarged along the outer dial making the model incredibly legible. Add to this the bold, brilliant-white hands on the matte-black dial, and you have a pure on-board instrument. The proportions of the dial are perfectly studied, creating an unrivalled graphic balance that draws the eye directly to the relevant information with ease. We particularly like the way the French brand integrates the date window at 4:30. Round and color-matched, it's meant to be discreet.

Finally, this watch is powered by the ETA 2894-2. This caliber is a veritable tractor, beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering 40 hours of power reserve.
