Oris is a brand very much involved in protecting the environment, and is multiplying ecological initiatives, which it brings together under its "Change For Better" mission. The brand even published its first sustainability report last year and launched its emissions reduction program with a target of 10% per year! For this year 2023, the brand has announced a collaboration with responsible company Bracenet, which transforms fishing nets into accessories! Today, the brand is very proud to present the Oris X Bracenet, a special version of its Aquis Date diver's watch, featuring a beautiful dial made from ghost or end-of-life recycled nets.

A 43.5 mm Aquis Date

The "Aquis" watch is a true pillar of the ORIS brand, It is a high-performance diver's watch, featuring a 43.5 mm diameter stainless steel case and unidirectional steel bezel. Water-resistant to 300 meters (30 bars), it is powered by a Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement, which ensures the running of a date window at 6 o'clock.

The hands and indexes, like the "lollipop" second hand, are coated with Super-LumiNova®. The optimal legibility of "Aquis Date" is revealed through the contrasts of the dial. Thanks to the clarity and luminescence of the information, divers will be able to check at a glance that the watch is working properly and that immersion times are being measured accurately in any situation. For this reference 01 733 7730 4137-07 8 24 05PEB, you can't miss its kaleidoscope-patterned green dial made from ghost, or end-of-life, recycled fishing nets. To make this unique dial, we take small green, blue and white scraps and gently heat them until they melt to form the raw material. As they cool, they harden into a thin sheet of material. This is then cut to size, planed and sanded down to a thickness of just 0.3 mm. The material contains no additives or glues, and no two dials are alike.

These offcuts come from nets revalorized and cleaned by Barcenet, which recovers them from extraordinary organizations such as Ghost Diving, Healthy Seas and Nofir. These NGOs recover nets from the seabed or wrecks with their teams of technical divers, or source end-of-life fishing nets directly from fisheries.

Finally, this watch is dressed in an "Oyster" steel bracelet with a polished and satin finish. This bracelet is equipped with a safety folding buckle with push buttons and a buckle extension for diving!

Engine side

Through the sapphire caseback, we find the Oris 733 movement with its famous red rotor! Designed on a Sellita SW 200-1 base, this automatic caliber beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, offering a power reserve of 38 hours. It features an instantaneous date window at 6 o'clock, as well as a fine adjustment and stop-seconds system.
