A loan watch dating back to the 1960s

In 1964, in order to promote his brand-new battery-operated electromechanical movement, Fred LIP had the idea of creating the "Service Après-Vente" watch. Thus, when a customer came to have his LIP watch serviced or repaired, his authorized dealer would offer him a most valuable service: a courtesy watch. Customers thus had the pleasure of experiencing the precision and ease of use of this revolutionary battery-operated movement.

A genius idea from Fred LIP to encourage his customers to succumb to the appeal of this unprecedented technology, a symbol of modernity and watchmaking revolution. The operation was a real success thanks to this original, bold and sympathetic promotion. But many customers, after trying the watch, "forgot" to return it.

A watch then became mute for collectors and enthusiasts making it a highly prized piece.

A courtesy watch reissued!

LIP today revives this iconic model in the same configuration as the 1964 original: historic 35 mm case, battery-operated movement and dial marked with the SAV slogan. Only the mechanism has changed, as the old electric caliber has given way to a Swiss quartz movement.
