The Seamaster Diver 300M "PARIS 2024" Special Edition has been designed as a tribute to the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad. This edition of the Olympic Games will mark OMEGA's 31st participation as Official Timekeeper, a role the company has fulfilled since 1932.
Omega and the Olympic Games
Since 1932, Omega has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games on 30 occasions. This collaboration has proved fruitful for the manufacture, which has since retained this title with only rare exceptions!
The brand thus has the honor of timing events at the Paralympic and Youth Olympic Games. When this partnership began, at the Los Angeles 1932 Olympic Games, only one Swiss watchmaker showed up with 30 split-seconds chronographs. Today, an entire team of professional timekeepers travels with 450 tons of equipment. But the objective remains the same: to provide the world's best athletes with impeccable timekeeping.
Omega offers limited editions at each Olympiad, based on the brand's various models: Aqua Terra, Speedmaster, Seamaster and Seamaster Planet Ocean are often the models selected for these very special editions. They are all highly coveted by collectors and fans of the Manufacture. And this Paris 2024 edition is no exception! Indeed, for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, OMEGA will have the privilege of being the Official Timekeeper for the 31st time since 1932. To celebrate this historic event, the Biel-based Manufacture is presenting a Seamaster Diver 300M with the color of victory, gold.
"Launched in 1993, the Seamaster Diver 300M is one of OMEGA's sportiest watches."
1993 is undoubtedly one of Omega's most significant and important dates: the launch of the very first Seamaster Diver 300M on the market! The launch marked Omega's triumphant return to diving watches, and proved that the brand's ingenuity was more alive than ever. Positioned at the time as a refined, luxurious diver's watch, it broke with the design language of the Seamaster 300 and 600 of previous decades, showing a revolution of sorts. Indeed, the changes and developments of the 1990s inspired new designs and propelled the brand into the spotlight. The chronograph version was even named Watch of the Year in 1994! The launch of the Seamaster Diver 300M also coincided with the brand's new marketing strategy in the 1990s, aimed at breaking records and becoming a true icon, bringing Omega into the modern era with a vision full of fervor. As soon as it was launched, it accompanied Frenchman Roland Specker to a depth of 80 meters, setting the world record for freshwater free diving. In 1995, it marked a close relationship with the world of sailing when Sir Peter Blake, along with several sailors from the New Zealand team, wore the diver during their unforgettable victory in the America's Cup. But it was the film GoldenEye that really propelled this watch to iconic status! For the first time, James Bond wears a Diver 300M on his wrist!
Seamaster Diver 300M Special Edition "Paris 2024"
The 42mm stainless steel and 18K Moonshine™ gold case is enhanced by a bezel with a laser-structured positive-relief diving scale and a Super-Luminova dot at 12 o'clock.
The laser-engraved white ceramic dial, protected by a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, is adorned with a matte finish and a polished wave pattern in relief. In addition to the dark gray decal lettering, the date at 6 o'clock is engraved with the Paris 2024 typography in black. All indexes are in diamond-polished 18K Moonshine™ gold with white Super-Luminova. The faceted hands, meanwhile, are PVD-coated in 18K Moonshine™ gold, including the central seconds hand featuring the Paris 2024 logo. Admire the date display at 6 o'clock, among 18K Moonshine™ gold hour markers and dark gray decal lettering. The numerals have been inscribed with Paris 2024 typography in black.
The watch is mounted on a stainless steel bracelet, created with OMEGA's new quick-change system, which allows the owner to easily replace it with a system-compatible rubber strap. It also features a patented extendable folding clasp with a rack-and-pinion clasp and an additional extension for diving.
A case back with medallion
On the back, the commemorative stainless steel caseback features OMEGA's patented NAIAD LOCK system. It also features a medallion stamped with the mirror-polished and frosted Paris 2024 logo in 18K Moonshine™ gold, as well as the stamped wording, "Paris 2024" and the Olympic rings, which have a mirror-polished finish on a frosted base.
A Co-Axial caliber certified Master Chronometer
This Diver 300M is powered by an Omega 8800 manufacture self-winding movement. Equipped with a Co-Axial escapement, it boasts great performance while offering a balanced watch for everyday use. Indeed, the movement and watch have been tested in accordance with the METAS-approved Master Chronometer certification procedure, guaranteeing the watch's accuracy between 0 and +5 seconds per day. The caliber is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss, so you don't have to worry about the electronic equipment that surrounds us every day. The racketless balance wheel with silicon balance spring beats at a frequency of 25,200 alternations, a standard frequency providing 55 hours of power reserve.
A special case and exclusive NATO straps!
To ensure that this Olympic Games model can be preserved for years to come, it is presented in a white case adorned with Paris 2024 details matching the OMEGA countdown clock located in the Port de la Bourdonnais.
Finally, for the first time ever, a selection of NATO bracelets has been created for the Olympic Games. The Paris 2024 models are offered in five colors inspired by the iconic Olympic rings or with stripes matching the French flag. Which will you choose to personalize your watch?
