OMEGA's 75th anniversary collection would not be complete without a special edition of the Seamaster Diver 300M, OMEGA's diving watch par excellence.
Diver 300M: The icon of the oceans
1993 is undoubtedly one of Omega's most significant and important dates: the launch of the very first Seamaster Diver 300M on the market! The launch marked Omega's triumphant return to diving watches, and proved that the brand's ingenuity was more alive than ever. Positioned at the time as a refined, luxurious diver's watch, it broke with the design language of the Seamaster 300 and 600 of previous decades, showing a revolution of sorts. Indeed, the changes and developments of the 1990s inspired new designs and propelled the brand into the spotlight. The chronograph version was even named Watch of the Year in 1994! The launch of the Seamaster Diver 300M also coincided with the brand's new marketing strategy in the 1990s, aimed at breaking records and becoming a true icon, bringing Omega into the modern era with a vision full of fervor. As soon as it was launched, it accompanied Frenchman Roland Specker to a depth of 80 meters, setting the world record for freshwater free diving. In 1995, it marked a close relationship with the world of sailing when Sir Peter Blake, along with several sailors from the New Zealand team, wore the diver during their unforgettable victory in the America's Cup. But it was the film GoldenEye that really propelled this watch to iconic status! For the first time, James Bond wears a Diver 300M on his wrist!
A special Summer Blue edition for the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster collection!
This 42 mm Seamaster Diver 300M features a stainless steel case and bracelet. The ceramic dial, in OMEGA's exclusive Summer Blue color, is PVD-coated and sports a gradient finish reflecting the watch's water-resistance level. The model also features the 300M's famous wave motif.
A blue ceramic bezel with Summer Blue (Grand Feu) enamel diving scale surrounds the dial, which features rhodium-plated skeletonized hands and raised indexes coated with light-blue Super-Luminova.
A commemorative caseback
To mark 75 years of the Seamaster collection, the back of this watch features a stamped version of the commemorative Seamaster logo depicting Poseidon equipped with a trident and two seahorses: the original OMEGA logo from 1956 and the House's current design. The logo was designed by Jean-Pierre Borle, who was inspired by a trip to Venice and the carved representations of Neptune's seahorse found at either end of the city's iconic gondolas.
This symbol reflects the collection's maritime heritage, refined style and robust spirit.
A Co-Axial caliber certified Master Chronometer
This Diver 300M is powered by an Omega 8800 manufacture self-winding movement. Equipped with a Co-Axial escapement, it displays great performance while offering a balanced watch for everyday use. Indeed, the movement and watch have been tested in accordance with the METAS-approved Master Chronometer certification procedure, guaranteeing the watch's precision between 0 and +5 seconds per day. The caliber is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss, so you don't have to worry about the electronic equipment that surrounds us every day. The racketless balance wheel with silicon balance spring beats at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations, a standard frequency providing 55 hours of power reserve.
