The king of gemstones
Diamond is one of the four precious stones. First of all, it is necessary that diamonds are only found in certain specific geographical areas. The most important characteristics of diamonds are "the 4C's": color, clarity, cut and carat. The color (Color) is expressed from D (exceptional white +) to Z (yellow-brown). But attention, it should be known that there are diamonds of color, which are very rare! The purity (clarity) is determined according to the number and the size of the inclusions which one finds on diamond. Diamonds are then classified on a scale according to their degree of purity going from imperfect to perfect. For this, it is necessary to observe the diamonds with a magnifying glass of x10 magnification. The quality of the cut of the diamond indicates the way in which the stone is cut. It should be known that the cut directly affects its brilliance. Finally, the carat measures the diamond weight. It depends on the dimensions of the stone. For our Lepage creations, we only use diamonds with a D to F color and a minimum SI clarity (Small Inclusions). All of our diamonds weighing more than 0.5 carat are supplied with an official HRD or GIA certificate, which attests to the authenticity and quality of the stone.
Colored Gemstones
Colored gemstones are sapphire, emerald and ruby. These gems are of great beauty and are used to fashion colorful and elegant bracelets. Unlike diamonds, each colored gemstone has its own necessary inclusions that ensure its consistency and color. The ruby includes all the red colored cordions. Sapphire is also a member of this family. The emerald belongs to the beryl family.
