The story

Launched in 1957, the "Superocean" professional diver's watch was quickly adopted by recreational diving enthusiasts, giving rise to several generations of instruments with unrivalled aquatic performance. Today, BREITLING has preserved all the spirit of the original model in a line called "Superocean Héritage", which is now one of the brand's flagship collections, thanks to its unique, timeless look married to cutting-edge technology.

This collection was launched in 2017, to mark the 60th anniversary of this pioneer of the great outdoors. BREITLING has reinvigorated its iconic design, retaining its distinctive character. The main evolution: a new steel bezel with ceramic insert, scratch-resistant and highly resistant to shocks. Thanks to the elimination of the metal ring surrounding the minute track, this bezel appears to be one with the matching dial, adorned with the original "Superocean" logo. The novel shape of the hands (triangular hours, diamond-shaped minutes) and slightly conical hour markers reinforces the links with the 1957 model, while ensuring optimal legibility, enhanced by luminescent markers.

A 46 mm-diameter automatic chronograph

This "Superocean Héritage II" is a 46 mm chronograph, featuring a magnificent blue sunray dial with a rubber strap that reprises the mythical braided design of the 1957 one. The steel case with screw-down crown is water-resistant to 200 m. The unidirectional fluted rotating bezel, with luminescent dot at 12 o'clock, features a 120-notch system ensuring highly precise handling and smooth rotation.

On the performance side, the "Superocean Héritage II" retains all the technical qualities that have made it an accomplice to the finest adventures, on land, on water and in the air. Indeed, this watch houses a BREITLING "13" caliber, a chronometer-certified self-winding chronograph movement.
