Oris created its first watch for pilots in 1938, which was distinguished at the time by its oversized crown and Pointer Calendar function: the Big Crown! In particular, it allowed aviators of the time to easily wind and adjust their timepieces with their leather gloves. Aviation then became one of the four great Oris universes!

Since then, the Hölstein Manufacture has offered a good number of collections dedicated to aviation and also multiplies partnerships with many organizations, such as Coulson Aviation, Okavango Air Rescue or the Blue Eagles Helicopter Display Team.

Fairly, the watch we are presenting today is a BC4 aviator watch! A real flight instrument, which has benefited from all the experience of this last partner.

Introduction

The BC4 models were born in 2008, and are inspired by modern cockpit instruments. Like dashboards on the wrists, these watches offer all the information needed to carry out flight plans at your fingertips and in your eyes!

On this BC4 Blue Eagle model, the case features the exclusive "cushion" shape of the BC4 collection, but larger and bolder (45 mm in diameter). The bezel and caseback have a beautiful black DLC coating, and the silver reflections of the steel case middle give the watch a very original "sandwich" structure! The black is also found on the dial, with the Blue Eagle Association logo at 6 o'clock.

The central 24-hour time display, which was a first for Oris when this model was released, guarantees an unparalleled glance at the time. It is powered by the Oris Calibre 653 movement. The day and night zones are highlighted in black and white for optimal visibility. The inner bezel is activated by the large vertical crown at 2 o'clock to display a second time zone. The crown is equipped with an exclusive safety system, the Oris Quick Lock, which prevents any unintentional disturbance! Finally, there is a large date window at three o'clock. This watch is dressed in a black leather strap with a folding clasp.
