Reinterpretation of an icon: Sumo

This SFK003J1 reference uses an iconic model from the Japanese brand, the "Sumo," as its base. First appearing in 2007, this watch was christened Sumo by many fans of the brand. Why this nickname? Perhaps it was its muscular appearance or the shape of its bezel which resembles the Dohyo, the ring where Sumo fights take place. But the name stuck, and this watch has become an icon in Diver's Seiko collection! It is recognized as one of the most robust and reliable watches for divers.

This novelty inherits the 2007 design, but now offers a GMT complication. Indeed, the GMT diver had disappeared from the Seiko catalog since 2014, while the brand has a large history with this complication, via its Navigator Timer models from 1968, the Alpinist from 2003 or even the Kinetic divers from 2015.

Thus, this model features a 45mm diameter stainless steel case with anti-scratch coating, a unidirectional diving bezel, a sapphire crystal as well as a steel bracelet with safety clasp, push buttons and diving extension.

This reference offers a sublime dial featuring a pressed pattern with shades of green! It is topped with imposing Lumibrite-filled indexes, and is animated by large hands.

This watch is also water resistant to 200 meters, and meet ISO diving standards. Its crown is sighted and the case is topped with a sapphire crystal.

This Prospex Diver's 200 Sumo GMT embeds the brand new manufacture caliber 5K65! It's a solar quartz movement, so it recharges by light. It offers a power reserve of 9 months without light and offers several features: a quick date as well as a GMT hand that allows you to read the time of two different time zones.
