Rolex Submariner 14060 automatic 40 mm 1999 with Watch Certificate

The brief history

Rolex launched the Submariner reference 14060 in 1989, to replace its mythical 5513. At the time, it marked the new generation of the undated Submariner and is considered one of Rolex's first modern references, breaking with the era of four-digit vintages. The 14060 is distinguished from its predecessor by the use of a new caliber, the introduction of sapphire crystal, and a new dial with circled indexes. Water resistance is also improved, with water resistance increased to 300 meters thanks to its use of a Triplock crown.

Produced for 10 years from 1989 to 1999, the dials of the 14060 were all with tritium indexes, Only a few models were produced at the time of the transition to the 14060M with Luminova dial. They are recognizable by the "Swiss Made" mention at 6 o'clock.

The example we are pleased to offer is a 1999 A series and is one of the last productions with a Luminova dial. This watch features a glossy black "no date" dial with white gold circled hour markers. This Submariner is in excellent condition. The case has light scratches. The bezel and glass of this watch are in perfect condition. And the inside of the case back is stamped "2160". Its bracelet is marked 93150, its end pieces are marked 501B and its lugs are pierced. This makes it an entirely original watch! An ideal model to start the adventure of collectible watches!
