The "modern" history of Panerai began in 1993 with the release of the Luminor Marina in 40 and 44mm, for the first time accessible to all and not just the military. The model presented is the first Luminor 1950 Marina powered by the Manufacture P9000 caliber, in a 44mm version with a cushion-shaped steel case that follows the aesthetic codes of the brand's historical models. Indeed, it has the characteristic features of the Luminor, with the 1950s-style case and its rounded, cushion-shaped case middle, derived from the Radiomir case (case with thin lugs). This PAM is one of the most appreciated by the brand's enthusiasts, as its design is sleek and faithfully respects the Panerai tradition: a matte black dial with a "sandwich" construction with a small second at 9 o'clock and a modernized 1950 Luminor case thanks to its polished-brushed finish.

In addition, this Panerai PAM 312 marked a real turning point in the history of the House by inaugurating the Luminor 1950 case and the manufacture P.9000 caliber. This automatic movement features 72 hours of power reserve, two barrels and a large-diameter balance wheel.
