A limited edition for the Expedition 7th Continent association

Lip presents its new Nautic-Ocean with the Expedition 7th Continent. The French brand of great explorers such as Maurice Herzog or Eric Tabarly, joins forces with Patrick Deixonne and Expedition 7th Continent to alert on the urgency of plastic waste management in the oceans. To support this association, the watchmaker presents this new diving watch in a limited edition of 599 pieces.

The Nautic, the sports watch par excellence of the Lip range, worn notably by Eric Tabarly and the teams of Commander Cousteau, had all the qualities required to meet the demands of this man of the sea: resistance, legibility, water resistance, precision, durability.

All profits from the sale of the Nautic-Ocean will be donated to the association, which works for a preserved ocean, striving to combine scientific, educational and media know-how, structured around a common commitment: to understand and reduce ocean plastic pollution for a preserved planet.

The Nautic-Ocean PIL in detail

The Nautic-Ocean offers a 316L steel case, waterproof up to 20 bars thanks to a case back and a screwed crown. Its compressor case is inspired by the 1967 model, which makes the watch more waterproof when the pressure increases. We find on this case, a bidirectional internal bezel working in countdown and not in measurement of time spent underwater.

Beauty is the order of the day on its sunray dial, with a dark blue color that changes according to the light reflections. It is topped with a sapphire crystal that has undergone an anti-reflective treatment. The hands and hour markers are coated with white Superluminova to facilitate reading in the dark. Finally, the signature bi-directional inner bezel of the Nautic Ski model is adorned in blue and white to perfectly match the rest of the watch. A little extra on this model, the "Expedition 7th Continent" association logo is proudly positioned at 9:00 a.m.

Time and date settings are made via the screw-down crown located at 4 o'clock, the crown positioned at 2 o'clock allows the inner bezel to be adjusted. These two crowns have been oversized for ease of handling. Finally, to reinforce its ecological aspect, this Nautic-Ocean is presented on a Seaqual strap, made of plastic fibers recycled from plastics recovered from the Mediterranean.

A Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement

You will have the pleasure of admiring the movement that drives this LIP through its transparent screwed case back. It is the Miyota 8215 caliber 3 hands date. Featuring 21 jewels, it oscillates at 21600 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 40 hours.
