The brief history

The 1969 introduction of Seiko's Speedtimer was a milestone in the history of the chronograph. It was one of the world's first automatic chronographs, equipped with the calibre 6139, whose precision in measuring elapsed time was a real breakthrough in the history of the automatic wristwatch.

Today, the latest generation of Speedtimer chronographs welcomes three new creations whose design embodies the spirit of the original collection, enriched with the reliability and precision of Seiko's solar technology.

A brand new design!

This new SSC911P1 model integrates the Prospex Speedtimer collection. As with all Speedtimer chronographs, every detail is thought out to reflect the precision required for elapsed time measurement at the highest level. The chronograph second hand extends to the tachymeter markings on the edge of the dial. The minute hand at six o'clock and the central seconds hand are both red, to allow accurate reading of elapsed time at a glance. The date window is placed between the indexes so that the time is always visible.

On this version, there is a beautiful silver sunray dial, which guarantees a high level of legibility, an essential attribute of every Prospex watch! Its black and silver aluminium bezel perfectly matches its dial. A "panda" style that suits it perfectly! The smooth finish of the strap combined with the domed sapphire crystal gives the watches a classic yet sporty look.

Powered by a solar quartz calibre

This timepiece is powered by Seiko's solar calibre V192 which offers a 60-minute chronograph, 24-hour sub-dial. When the battery is fully charged, the watch can run for up to six months without exposure to light. Ecological, efficient and economical!
