Since 2016, the Seiko brand has been offering, through its Presage collection, a range of fully mechanical watches that combine aesthetics and traditional Japanese craftsmanship! This collection essentially brings together watches with a classic and elegant design, equipped with precise and reliable manufacture calibres. Their design embodies the beauty of Japan, with quality products that deliver long-lasting performance.
Style 60’s
The Presage collection includes a Style 60's series based on the Crown chronograph introduced in 1964 as the official watch of the Tokyo Olympic Games. The Crown was Japan's first wristwatch chronograph and had several revolutionary new functions. At the time, it was hand-wound and although it was triggered by a single push on the single pusher at 2 o'clock, Seiko's watchmakers chose a column wheel to increase the reliability of the chronograph function control. A simple yet sophisticated watch. Since 2020, Seiko has offered a modern reinterpretation of this watch. With its contemporary hues and earthy accents, this new version blends the vintage design of the 1964 creation with contemporary elements to create a collection with a retro touch that is perfect for modern times.
Sharp Edge
Since its launch, the Presage Sharp Edged collection has quickly made a name for itself in the world of fine watchmaking for its combination of traditional mechanical watchmaking and resolutely modern Japanese design. It offers the refinement of the mythical Japanese aesthetic with elegant and sharp case designs. The dial patterns of the Sharp Edged series are inspired by the traditional Japanese artistic design of a plant that has been cultivated in Japan for over 10,000 years - hemp. This ancient motif has been present in Japanese handicrafts since the Heian period (794-1185). The collection highlights the culture of Japan through its designs. There are GMT models, open heart watches, three-hand versions and also versions with a multi-hand dial with power reserve, day and date display.
Série Cocktail
The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time collection is inspired by the Japanese tradition of ending the working day with a cocktail. Each watch is named after a drink prepared by Hisashi Kishi, head bartender and owner of the Star Bar in Tokyo's Ginza district and former winner of the International Bar Association World Championship.
Craftmanship
The Presage collection is also known for its dials, which are handmade by numerous Japanese craftsmen. All unique, these dials are sublime and are made through many traditional techniques! Arita porcelain, enamel or lacquered dials, there are even dials made with Shippo enamel!
