Unique, technical and responsible, this Prospex Diver's 200 Monster is ideal for your explorations! Indeed, this Save The Ocean version donates part of the funds to the protection of Antarctic penguins.
Seiko and diving
The Japanese Manufacture Seiko is known to watch lovers as one of the most reliable and legitimate brands in the world of diving watches. Since the launch of its first diver's watch in 1965, Seiko has been dedicated to exceeding divers' expectations with its innovative technology, creating timepieces that will help you cope with deep water obstacles in a wide variety of situations around the world. These timepieces have proven to be equal to the rigours of the environment and have received praise from professional divers.
A "Monster" for the protection of penguins
Seiko has had great success with the special edition "Save the Ocean" watches, which has been growing year on year since 2018, when Seiko partnered with Fabien Cousteau, grandson of legendary explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. By combining the rugged styling of its most affordable dive watches with unique, textured dials, the Manufacture has managed to create one of the most popular sub-collections. This year, "Save the Ocean" is inspired by the protection of penguins in Antarctica, which is featured on the dial.
This SRPH75K1 reference uses as its base an iconic model of the Japanese brand, the Monster. This name was given by fans of the brand, and derives from the bold design of the case and its almost integrated steel bracelet. Indeed, this watch is immediately recognisable thanks to its steel case and partially hidden bezel. Its aggressive styling is marked by an inwardly sloping bezel with large notches for an ideal grip, and its fairly pronounced dive scale allows for optimal readability. It measures 42.4 mm in diameter and 13 mm thick, which may seem rather imposing. Yet, thanks to its short lugs and integrated strap, it remains a comfortable tool watch.
Its deep blue textured dial mimics the icy environment of Antarctica and several penguin silhouettes "swim" between 6 and 11 o'clock. The hour markers and hands are coated with LumiBrite, and there is also a Hardlex crystal, slightly lower than the top of the bezel, to protect it from scratches.
Technical side
This Prospex Diver's is equipped with the Manufacture calibre 4R36 with automatic winding. It is one of the inescapable movements of the Japanese firm which is notably used in most of the brand's watches. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers 42 hours of power reserve, allowing you to alternate with your other watches without having to systematically wind it. Designed to be reliable and robust, its construction is as simple as possible. In terms of complication, the day and date are shown in a window at three o'clock, which is very practical for everyday use.c
