Before Ayrton Senna, no driver had left such a lasting impression on the world of Formula One. Senna is considered by his peers to be one of the greatest drivers of all time. His record is impressive : three world championship titles, 65 pole positions and no less than 41 Grand Prix victories ! This great champion left us in 1994 and it is in his honour that TAG Heuer is offering this special reissue in 2022.

Under the microscope

This special edition with a black leather strap has been developed on the basis of the Formula 1 chronograph, TAG Heuer's motor racing model par excellence. It incorporates all the features that have made the Ayrton Senna editions so successful, while offering a very high level of finishing. This Special Edition Formula 1 Senna is powered by a quartz movement. Its precision and the accumulation of times up to 12 hours make it a tool appreciated by motor sport enthusiasts. The minutes of the chronograph are shown on the zone located at the top of the dial and the seconds are shown on the zone at 9 o'clock. The famous stylised S, Senna's exclusive symbol, can also be found at 12 o'clock on the black ceramic tachometer.

Yellow

The colour yellow, in touches, stands out very well on the whole and this is not by chance. Indeed, yellow is the colour of the three-time world champion. In the 1980s, when the young driver was just starting out in the world karting championship, Ayrton Senna wanted a new helmet that would fulfil two objectives: make him recognisable and represent the colours of his country, Brazil. It was therefore logical that the yellow of the Brazilian flag should become the main colour of the future champion's helmet and that this colour should be used on this Formula 1 as a tribute to Senna.
